Very pretty late 1950s to early 1960s floral print silk dress and jacket set. The dress has a high, rounded neckline with notched detail, short sleeves, and fastens down the back with the original metal zipper. It is nipped in at the waist with a separate, thin fabric belt and then flows into an A-line flared skirt. The jacket has gathered sleeves, slightly puffed at the shoulder and finished at the cuff with two fabric covered buttons each. It is lined in a sky blue acetate and closes at the front with covered popper fastenings. The fabric of both the dress and jacket is a lovely muted pea green, with a powder blue, turquoise, peach and white ditsy floral pattern.

Both garments are in wonderful vintage condition with no faults or stains to note. Although unlabelled, both have been very well made by a competent dress maker, perhaps for an atelier. There is a good deal of hand finished work and generous seam allowances. The ensemble would best fit up to a size UK 10 or US 6.
