This original 1920s dress is crafted from sheer yellow silk crepe printed with pale florals in cream and taupe and detailed with lime green foliage and splashes of tangerine and deep brown. The dress is tailored to a classic tea dress shape with fluttering cap-sleeves, an inverted drop-waist and a light flare to the skirt. The detail that really makes this dress stand out is the layering of fabrics at the bust to give the appearance of separates. Sitting under the cowl-neck of the top is a floral layer overlayed with a panel of sheer yellow silk chiffon and tonal yellow floral lace. The sleeves appear attached to the top layer and and form a cape across the back. The dress falls to just above ankle-length with a scalloped hem where the skirt attaches to the dropped waist. It pulls on over the head and is lined in pale yellow-cream crepe.

For her age, the dress is in extraordinary vintage condition and we could find no fault worth mentioning. A rare survivor of the period and US made, she presents beautifully and is wearable with care. Please check the measurements below closely to ensure a good fit - the fabric does not have any stretch. We estimate a good fit for sizes up to a UK 10 or US 6 and of course, sizes smaller. There is flexibility in the hip and waist area.
