This exquisite Art Deco nightgown was crafted in the mid–1930s from soft rayon crepe, designed to flow effortlessly along the body with a true bias-cut silhouette. The bodice is adorned with original hand embroidery — delicate pastel florals, tiny seed-stitched scrolls, and charming dimensional petals that shimmer softly as they catch the light.

Time left its mark gently on this gown, and I restored it using antique lace appliqués and vintage floral motifs, placed by hand to preserve the harmony of the original design. Each applique blends into the gown like a memory stitched back into place — giving the piece new life while honoring its history.

A feminine sash ties at the back, shaping the waist in that unmistakable 1930s way. FloralAppliques appliques also adorns the sides slit, making the gown even more unique and wearable.

• Antique fabrics (pre-1930s): Delicate materials such as 1920s silk or Edwardian muslin require extra care. These fabrics can be fragile and should be worn loosely to prevent stress or tearing.

Things to Consider for Edwardian & Victorian Clothing:

• A marked XS piece may have medium-sized shoulders and hips but a tiny waist (corset-era sizing).

• Sleeves are often ¾ length, not full-length.

• Buttons may be mismatched due to age and previous repairs.
