The Parisian answer to the 'flower power' fashions of the late 1960s, this glittering maxi gown was created by Bernard Claverie of Paris circa 1968-1969. An excellent example of a Parisian boutique adapting haute couture designs for the ready to wear market; this gown was most likely inspired by Pierre Balmain. The dress is fabulous quality and the fabric is mesmerising; russet red lurex patterned with purple, white, yellow, tangerine and rose-pink florals and geometric shapes. The dress has long angel-sleeves with a theatrical slit cuff that reveals flashes of red satin lining. There is a rounded neckline with a pretty keyhole cut-out at the front and a maxi-length skirt that falls in an A-line shape to the ankle. The dress is lined with satin in a deep slate blue for a comfortable wear. It fastens at the back of the neck with a hidden tonal blue zip.

The dress is in excellent vintage condition with no issues. No size or composition labels remain in the dress so please check our measurements below. The fabric has no stretch and we estimate a good fit for sizes up to a UK 10, US 6.
