1950's Myles Originals Confetti Gold Lucite
This is a 1950's Lucite Myles Originals Confetti Barrel Style Gold Lucite Handbag. This is lovely as it glistens with gold and light. It has 24 K gold plated brass feet and closures. The hinge is a silver colored metal. The actual label is not in the handbag, but the handbag is pictured in A Certain Style, The Art of the Plastic Handbag, 1949-59, by Robert Gottlieb and Frank Maresca, page 50, circa 1951-54. The confetti glitter handbags are the rarest of the Myles Handbags.
Some History of the Myles Originals - Myles Originals by Artistic Display Company was the first lucite handbag maker based in Miami, Florida. They created glamorous bags of all types and colors. Many of these bags had a three ball clasp made of metal as this one is.
