The origins of maliovanka go back to Podolia, particularly to the Zalishchyky (Zalishchyky shirt) and neighboring Borshchiv (Borshchiv painted shirt) districts of Ternopil region.
Mistresses seemed to paint bright, colorful patterns with a thread, using the "kolodochka" embroidery technique. The sleeves of the painted shirts are the richest in embroidery. Just look at this incredible amount of bright embroidery.
We turned to this ancient technique, creating our own interpretation of this shirt, to show that Maliovanka is not only a symbol of Ukrainian culture, but also a fashion trend that emphasizes individuality and refined taste.
