I did not realize that this was from the 1920s till I found a similar one in The Met collection (click here to see). I think this one is even better - it is absolutely for a female given the Athenas lettering and the hand embroidered Marlene over the one pocket. It completely captures that time period and you can imagine the young cheerleader that would have worn it as she cheered on her beau! It has that rare, extremely personal touch that you can find only in vintage garments and it captures and important time in American history. I am not 100% sure what College this would have came from - if you know please send me a note and I will add that information. Either way it is a wonderful sweater and a rare piece of American history! Excellent condition.

Note that antique and twenties pieces are final sale. They will be packed exceedingly well and we only sell pieces that will stand up to the stress of shipping, however, having pieces potentially shipped multiple times through multiple customs and countries is too hard on garments that are historically important and deserve to be treated with love and care. Please purchase accordingly.
Unlined and closes with very early plastic buttons. One teeny stitch out for the fold of the front edge between the top and second button and two small pinholes near the seam that runs under one arm.
