2010 long black knitted cardigan by Nicolas Ghesquière during his time as creative director at Balenciaga. It has a superb alternating knit design that features horizontal rows of both plain and open style bands. It has a V-neck and is front fastening with large, concealed poppers. The sleeves are form-fitting with ribbed cuffs which is also echoed around the bottom hem. The cardigan would make a superb layering piece and of particular note, the garment is coated in what appears to be a paint like sheen. When it catches the light, the colour goes from black to an almost silver like tone. It's a very unique peice from the renowned designer and his work is increasingly collectible.

The top is in excellent archival condition and very fresh looking. No loss of the coating and made in Italy from a rayon and elastane yarn. Although labelled a size French 36, this is a relaxed fit and will fit sizes up to a UK 10, US 6. I believe this peice could also be unisex and fit an extra small man.
