The XP95 A2S (4106-2003) addressable heat detector operates as both a fixed temperature and rate of rise, utilising a thermistor to monitor temperature, providing a precise output proportional to the surrounding air temperature.

The standard XP95 A2S heat detector is classified as a (Type A & B) device and will report an alarm at 55°C.

The XP95 Heat Detector is compatible with the XP95 Universal Detector Base, which incorporates the unique XPERT card, simplifying address configuration and enhancing installation efficiency.

This heat detector is an ideal choice for a variety of fire safety applications, providing dependable temperature monitoring for effective fire protection. The XP95 heat detector is also unaffected by wind or atmospheric pressure and is insect resistant.

General information about heat detectors;

There are two main types of heat-sensitive element in each form as follows:

• Rate-of-rise detectors are preferred for general protection as they respond faster to fires by sensing rapid temperature increases.
• In environments with frequent rapid temperature changes, fixed-temperature detectors are recommended to minimise false alarms.

Suitability

According to AS 1670.1, where the ceiling height exceeds 9 meters, heat detectors are not generally suitable, and the location, sensitivity and type of detector selected should be considered.
