This is one of a dozen dresses from a single owner collection of beautiful 1930s dresses and I am very pleased to have this small capsule for you. Her collection was lovingly sourced over decades and she has decided that it is time let them back out into the world for others to enjoy. Outstanding designs from this era are increasingly hard to find. Her collection represents some of the best of the era that I have seen in a very long time. Most are in excellent condition and the few included in the capsule that do have some flaws are such outstanding designs that I feel there is still room for someone to love them and wear them as they are, or perhaps to put in the additional work to repair them. This is just a tiny sampling of her overall collection and I hope to have another series of these capsules in the future. Enjoy this first drop.

This is magnificent dress. It is one long sheath dress that falls to the floor in a smooth column. That minimalist column is offset by the multiple rows of hand applied fringes that cover of the dress from head to toe. These fringes give the dress incredible movement. Your slightest movement causes them to explode all around you. The dress is in remarkable condition and appears to have been worn very little if at all. It's truly a stand out. The base is a black silk and it falls from the shoulders in a smooth line that widens out gradually as it nears the hem. It skims over the bust, waist, and hips. The neckline is set wide across and the shoulders and extends out a touch to create a slight cap. The fringes on the bust are set at 2.5" lengths and the ones below that skirt are 4". Above each row there is a bit of an embroidered pattern where the fridge is attached inside. Around the waist it is completely embroidered with a black silk fine cording. At first glance it looks like the material has been gathered there, in the manner that they did ruching in the 1930s, but it's actually embroidered thread. It is just fantastic and I love it. Excellent condition with a minor note below.

Unlined and closes at the side with a series of hook and eye. The back of the neck has a hook and eye. If appears to have been worn very little if at all. For a dress almost 100 years old it is in remarkable condition.
