Jacques Tiffeau examples can be found in The Metropolitan Museum archives and this particular dress is as good as those examples (if not better) Jacques only designed for a few years in the 60s under his own label and was a bit of a fashion bad boy. He was a gossip, had torrid love affairs with some of the greatest designers of the time (he was at one point the lover of Monsieur Dior!). His pieces are rare and many of them can be a little dowdy, but when you luck out and find a fabulous little cocktail dress or gown by him - well you have something special. This is just such a piece and is made from a light weight silk organza through which gold metallic thread is worked. This gives the dress a subtle shimmer that I love. The bodice is simple and fitted with w V cut neckline. The skirt has the perfect amount of fullness and it still has its original fabric belt!. Well made and in excellent, seemingly unworn condition.
