Achieving a deep, even black required costly dyes, making it a color reserved for evening assemblies and Rococo portraiture intended to convey permanence and power.

In this context, black functions as a statement of restraint. Where lighter hues emphasized novelty, the Nocturne Black allows the structure of the Marie Antoinette corset gown to speak—highlighting the silhouette, proportion, and disciplined construction of the Robe a la Française.

Inspired by the historic robe à la française, the Immortelle Gown is a modern corset gown interpretation rather than a historical reproduction. It honors the structure, romance, and grandeur of the Rococo era while embracing contemporary atelier craftsmanship, comfort, and versatility.

Each gown features a fully built-in corset constructed with coated spiral steel boning for sculpted support and shaping. Adjustable front and back modesty panels provide up to eight inches of expandability, allowing for a more personalized and adaptable fit over time.

Designed to be worn over panniers, side hoops, or full hoop skirts, the Immortelle Gown may be styled with removable stomachers, layered skirts, and decorative panels to create a silhouette unique to the wearer.
