Birds with brightly coloured plumage sit nestled amongst flowers and vines in this subtle grey and black saree. A zari border in gold and lines of zari against the black pallu add beautiful lustre and depth. Comes attached with plain blouse fabric in black.

Each Kanchipuram silk saree in our Kalpataru range is hand-painted by master artists in Kalahasti who have carried forward this tradition over generations. The sarees are painted using natural pigments derived from tree bark, fruit peels and flowers, washed in running river water and bleached by the sun. Every saree is moulded by the colours, water and sunlight of the region, and each line, stroke and variation is a testament to the artist’s skill and labour. 

Note: Since the traditional Kalamkari process involves multiple rounds of preparation and washing, the attached blouse piece on this saree is slightly smaller than our standard allowance due to shrinkage. If you require more fabric or would like to tailor a custom blouse, please reach out to our team.
