Emma Domb was a San Francisco-based fashion designer who co-founded the Domb Manufacturing Company in 1939 with her daughter, Lorraine. The brand became known for its ultra-feminine event dresses that catered for its up-market clientele.

This fabulous, frothy late 1960s to early 1970s maxi-length gown is tailored from satin adorned all-over with generously cut polka-dot net. The top is cut with long, sheer bell-sleeves with ruffle cuffs and has a rounded neckline finished with a net ruffle. The bust and back are lined with white satin. The full-skirt falls to ankle-length and is softly pleated at the top. It is lined with satin printed with blown-up florals in pastel hues set against a white background. These flowers peep through the polka-dot mesh like an English summer garden viewed through a net curtain. At the waist, a wide moiré waistband in candy pink cinches the dress. This dress fastens at the rear with a hidden tonal white zip and hook-and-eye clasp.

In excellent vintage condition with no flaws of any note. The dress retains the ILGWU union label which dates the dress to between 1964 and 1973. It has no size or composition label so please check our measurements below as the fabric has no stretch. We believe it would best fit sizes up to a UK 10-12 or US 6-8 with plenty of room in the hip.
