This stylish 1970s Pisanti chocolate brown crepe dress with metallic check design has a host of stylish features. The warm, deep brown fabric of the skirt is complemented wonderfully by the metallic ribbed knitwear on the bodice and sleeves. The silhouette is a classic, deeply flattering shape.  The wide, shoulder-spanning lapel falls into a prominent button stand at the centre front of the dress that continues past the waist into the full, mid-calf length skirt. Neat, closed pleats run over the navel from the waistline and open up just past the hip at the front of the garment to create movement in the skirt, which is lined and reinforced at the hem. The wide crepe cuffs and reverse shoulder panel are attractive details that consolidate the piece beautifully and the small chrome buttons along the button stand pick-out the metallic detail in the bodice. This piece is in excellent vintage condition with no notable flaws and would fit up to sizes US size 6-8, UK size 10-12, although happily as the bodice is slightly elasticated, there is a little extra give in the bust and waistband. Our model is a UK 8-10 and 5ft 11in (180cm) and this dress was a good fit on her.
