While I have spent most of my life in Australia, I was born – and lived for a short time – in Indonesia. Culturally, I was raised with those core Eastern values, and I have throughout my life honoured them in my own way.

Even though it has been some time between trips, a recent visit brought all of those early childhood memories flooding back. In particular, one with my Oma. She would make me along with my cousins cups of jasmine tea throughout the day, watching with Ihm as we played in the street chasing dragonflies in front of her home.

Melani is my homage those days.
