This elegant and runway documented 1990s military style coat dress has fantastic provenance. It walked the runway on supermodel Cindy Crawford as part of Ralph Lauren’s Fall 1991 collection, the same year that Ralph Lauren won the CFDA Lifetime Achievement award. It is tailored from smooth, thick black wool to a figure-hugging shape with a flippy, A-line skirt which swirls around the wearer as they walk. It has long, slim sleeves and a high collar. The front is double-breasted, decadently adorned with sixteen heavy, gold-tone metal buttons embossed with the coat of arms of the United Kingdom featuring a unicorn and lion and the motto “Dieu et mon droit”. The coat-dress is lined with matte black silk. The dress contains the purple Ralph Lauren label which indicates the high-end runway ready-to-wear line.

In excellent vintage condition, with no marks or flaws. It is made from 100% Wool. Labelled a US 4, UK 8 but please check the below measurements as it will also suit a size smaller. The fabric has no stretch.
