1970's lush black velvet maxi skirt in a very figure flattering straight silhouette. This skirt sits high at the waist and pin-tucks around the front of the skirt on either side and darts in back for a very cute fit. Closure is a hook and eye at the waist with a button on the inside and a zipper down from that in back. There is a generous slit in the back for ease of movement. I believe the fabric is a cotton velvet, it is so soft and lush and feels great on. It does have a slight bell shape but presents fairly straight when worn as you can see.

Brand tag is "The Villager" one of my favorite brands of this time. There is also a care tag that says "dry clean only" but it did fine with a hand soak and hang dry. There is also a size tag that says 10 but that is not accurate to modern sizing.

Condition is pristine. I hang it over a hanger, but where I purchased it they had skirt clamps in the very top - you can just barely see where those clamps were at the top of the waistband but it is barely there. I replaced the inside button so the closure is more secure. The overall condition and presentation is just beautiful with years of wear to go.

Size is a modern small to maybe medium or around a size 6. The model shown is about 5'8" with a 35.5/27/37. It was a darling on her. The measurements are as follows:

Length - 42"
