A cultural combo of coolness and exquisite hand-embroidery makes this wide drop, capped short-sleeve jacket rich in both color and design. The base of this one of a kind piece is made of extraordinary Kashmiri wool which is so soft and supple it feels like velvet. It is one glorious swath of hand-embroidered crewel work with intertwining hand stem, satin and french knots of floral, paisley, star and braided crewel work. The earthy yet romantic color story is an Autumnal dream in pecan, turmeric, ochre, tobacco and red-dotted mauve stars, flowers and fans. The fabulous front and back yoke hails from Afghanistan, salvaged from an upcycled light sage colored dress with the deepest sangre red cross hand-embroidered motifs all over. Meticulously placed hand mirror work gives this piece an even more revered richness. The yoke and crewel base is piped in a handsome Uzbek ikat silk in more autumnal forest green, deep old gold spice and sangre. More gorgeous earthy tones of ikat lines this fabulous creation albeit from the softest Indian cotton. A single button closure and 2 pockets keep you nice and cozy. Size Small, 40.5” chest measurement with 26” wide arm opening. A regal and substantial piece both in style and weight!
