This gown is constructed from a silk taffeta that has a fantastic array of colors woven through the fabric - it is a more sophisticated take on the infamous multi-colored striped pieces of this era. Almost every color in the rainbow is represented in that fantastic fabric. The bodice is fitted strapless with light boning to hold it perfectly in place. I love the tiny row of tightly spaced buttons that run down the back - so much extra work and time would have been spent to add these instead of a zipper! The skirt is fantastic - full and with a built in wire around the hips to give it just a slight bit of lift and volume! A couture touch that really adds to the look of the piece. A killer flounced bit of fabric in a huge cross between a bustle and a bow is attached at the back in a matching fabric - so fabulously dramatic. Really a fantastic dress and in excellent condition.
