Treacy Lowe designed her pieces around the fabric.For this one, she had a fine, flat pile velveteen made in India and printed with an amazing design, The fabric is thin and pliable and the flat pile gives it a wonderful unexpected texture.- it is nothing like a normal velvet at all! The print is an exotic feeling paisley type design with contracting borders running down the sleeves, side and collar. The sleeves are cut simply and straight rather then narrowing as they reach the cuff. The neckline has a V and it still has its original fabric sash so it can be worn loose and caftan like or cinch it to create more shape! Excellent, appears unworn condition.

The dress is fully lined in a high grade red tissue silk except for the sleeves which are unlined. It closes with a back painted metal zipper. The original fabric tie is present and also in excellent condition. Note that it present much more of a pale green in person - the light bounces off the fabric and draws out the pattern more in the photos.
