A lyrical Art Nouveau brooch crafted in 18k yellow gold, this circa early 1900s piece captures the movement and romance of natural forms. Centered by a vivid opal cabochon exhibiting striking flashes of peacock blue, electric green, soft indigo, and warm peach, the gem measures approximately 8 by 5.8 millimeters and shows excellent play of color in shifting light.
The sculptural branch and leaf motif showcases meticulous handwork: cast leaves are enriched with fine, hand-engraved venation, while the branch forms display hand-embossed texture consistent with high-quality European atelier work of the era.
Measuring approximately 2.3 inches long and 0.5 inches at its widest point, the brooch weighs 5 grams. The pin stem was replaced at some point in its life with a 14k rose gold stem; the brooch body and the tube C-clasp remain 18k yellow gold. Natural inclusions are visible within the opal under magnification. No hallmark is present, which is typical for Art Nouveau pieces made in small workshops.
A striking and wearable miniature sculpture, this brooch offers both collector appeal and unmistakable old-world charm.
