The soft silhouettes of moss spreading across mountain stones and the faded patterns of lichen on old trees. Muted green shapes move quietly over a pale ground — a handwoven reflection of slow mountain walks, shifting light, and time etched into surface.
A Basny rug is a classic textile item, woven from sheep’s wool in the Ukrainian Carpathians. In the Hutsul locality, this type of rug is called a lizhnyk and is a versatile household item. Each Basny lizhnyk is hand-crafted using traditional techniques that involve more than ten stages, starting from sheep grazing to the final product.
Please be aware that because of the artisanal methods used in making, small twigs and leaves might get caught in the fibers. Hand-dyed and handcrafted items may also show irregularities in size and color.
