Beautiful handmade earrings capturing the unique and enduring symbolism and beauty of Aboriginal culture, using original indigenous artwork on aluminium sheeting finished with sterling silver hooks.
Made by Australian Jewellery Designer Erin K. who specialises in a metal printing process known as sublimation through which she transfers original photographs, artworks and imprints onto aluminium sheeting. She then handworks the metal into jewellery designs.
The original artwork used for this pair of earrings was taken from 'A Source of Life', inspired by the Murray River, by Holly of Koorie Tales, an indigenous artist and proud Yorta Yorta woman.
Sublimation is a specialised printing process that transfers images from paper to metal via heat. It is a permanent surface treatment however care must be taken to ensure your jewellery stays in great condition. Avoid spraying with perfume or other sprays, keep out of direct sunlight for long periods of time and store in the packaging provided to avoid scratching the surface.
