Cristalería Querandí S.A. was a leading South American art glass factory active from the 1950s through the 1970s. This piece is made in Annagelb, a rare yellow glass developed by German glassmaker Otto Ullmann. After emigrating to Argentina in 1950, Otto became the technical manager of Bohemia Glass Argentina and later helped establish Querandí as a major producer of colorful studio glass. He developed Annagelb using South American raw materials and minerals, creating a distinct palette that stood apart from European production.

This paperweight was created during Querandí’s most significant period (1957–1976), under the direction of Otto's brother, Hubertus Ullmann. The piece is signed by the factory and numbered, a standard practice for studio glass from the region. Its quality, signature, and condition make it a highly collectible example of Latin American Mid-Century decorative glass.
