This rare long sleeve cotton jacket with all-over black and white polka dots features two pockets lined horizontally with contrasted wite and black striped ribbon. It has a front button closure and buttons at each cuff.  The back of the jacket is adorned with a sewn-in black and white ribbon with stripes.  There is also elastic sewn-in on the back behind where the bow is sewn in giving the wearer extra stretch for comfort. Wear it with a pair of white slacks and off you go to your luncheon or to the polo match. Jacket can be worn closed or open and would look great worn with a white top or contrasting color.

William Ralph Blass (1922-2002) was an American fashion designer, born in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  He was the recipient of many fashion awards, including seven Coty Awards and the Fashion Institute of Technology's Lifetime Achievement Award.

The International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union (ILGWU) label that is attached to the garment indicates that it was produced some time between 1964 and 1973. (See photo)

Condition: It is in excellent condition with no tears, holes, stains, or missing buttons.  It's a fine example of a true vintage Bill Blass design.

Underarm to underarm: 23" flat

Sleeves are 20" long including the cuffs. They are 12" wide (flat) from the shoulder and taper down in width towards the cuffs. The style is very "roomy".

Waist and Hips are free as the jacket has a "roomy" design. The back bow ribbon can be untied to loosen or tighten to the wearer's liking.

Shoulders measure 24" flat. The shoulder sleeves drop a bit and have a droopy design.

Length of the jacket is 32" from the shoulder to the bottom hem.
