Stone corrodes cotton the way time corrodes memory — unevenly, beautifully, without permission. Giorgio Brato's Bologna atelier takes the hand-finishing techniques perfected on vegetable-tanned lamb and subjects 100% cotton twill to the same laborious corrosion process. The result is a long coat with a surface that reads like excavated textile — crinkled valleys and tonal ridges mapping a geography that no machine could replicate.
The "STN" in the model code signals stone treatment, and the effect is unmistakable: grey cotton that shifts between charcoal and pale ash depending on where the hand-finishing struck hardest. Seams absorb deeper pigment. Flat panels bleach toward the light. No two coats share the same weathering pattern — each piece carries the specific pressure and rhythm of the artisan who treated it. This is Brato's leather philosophy freed from leather: imperfection as the highest form of craft.
Cut long with dropped shoulders and articulated sleeves, the silhouette falls past the knee with quiet architectural weight. A pointed collar frames the neck without rigidity. The central back seam draws a vertical axis that gives the relaxed drape its structure — the coat moves freely but never loses its line. Medium-weight twill breathes against the body, warming without trapping heat, softening and creasing further with each wear into a coat that increasingly belongs to its owner.
