This stunning Yves Saint Laurent set clearly illustrates his love and fascination with all things gypsy, bohemian and peasant in feel. It is actually two pieces which gives it endless styling potential. The skirt is a black cotton linen feel mix fabric and the fabric choice gives it some weight and shape. It nips in at the waist and under the band is tightly pleated. These open to create the volume through the skirt that you see. The gold pattern that circles the skirt is a full 7" high and is tightly cross stitched metallic gold thread done by hand. That same gold thread makes a tight pattern that goes around the upper bodice and over each shoulder. The fabric of the top is a silk and purposely left semi sheer. A typical Yves nod to sexy. The sleeves are incredible - each is very very full above the elastic cuff and bands of that same hand done gold cross stitch circle the widest parts. It is an amazing and dramatic set! Excellent, appears unworn condition.

Both pieces are unlined. The skirt closes with a side zipper and flat hook & eye and the top slips on and has elastic as each cuff. Not the measurement of the band that goes right under the arms and above the bodice. This is key to the fit of the top. The skirt is tagged a vintage YSL 36 and the top 38
