1970s cotton maxi dress from good quality high street label Richard Shops. The dress has a vertical banded floral pattern interspersed with lace frill trim on the bodice and around the high neck. The gathered frill cuffs and collar are additionally trimmed with a rich brown velvet ribbon whilst the skirt is in a full length gathered flare. This high Victoriana design was also popularised by Laura Ashley during the early part of the decade and Gunne Sax in the US. Fully lined, the dress also retains its original belt and fabric loops and is in great vintage condition with no issues. Labelled a UK 12, this is better suited to a size 10 in modern sizing or US 6. Great for a winter bride! Our model is a UK 6-8 and 5ft 4in (163cm) and this dress was a great fit on her.
