After many requests, it is finally here: the Mix-Ready "Doom" Songwriting Template!

I went for a less polished sound this time, but still punchy, big and modern. The SD3 "Death" drum samples certainly help with that. I twisted those samples with the built in plugins and added some One Shot samples to give them a unique character. Now they hit right through the wall of guitars, while still sounding natural.

You can use a real bass guitar or VSTi bass in this template. The processing is done with ML Sound Lab Amped - Bass. I learned to love this bass amp sim just lately. Going for a heavy but still 'organic sounding' bass tone, this is my new go to. The tracks are set up so you can instantly start recording your bass or write the bass midi. I used Submission Audio: Djinnbass for the demo song, but you can replace it easily with a real or VSTi bass of your choice.

The guitar sounds are created with the Line 6 Metallurgy: Doom. A pretty obvious choice, right? A Customer recommended this amp sim to me for Doom and Sludge tones. And what can I say? It absolutely delivers those crushing wall of sound tones that you need for the genre. The built in FX and EQ sections are great so that I needed less third party plugins to shape the sound. Sweet Lead tones are also included.
