WHITE TARA, Drolkar (Tib).  Tara is the Bodhisattva of compassion manifested in the female form. Of the many forms of Tara in the Buddhist tradition, White Tara symbolizes purity (thus her white color) and is associated with long life practices. She is depicted in a seated posture with both legs crossed in the lotus position. White Tara represents the motherly aspect of compassion and is often referred as the mother of all Buddhas.
