Olive green and black handwoven Sambalpuri cotton saree from the weavers of Sambalpur, Odisha. The pattern for this saree evolves through a process of dyeing the warp and weft threads prior to inter-weaving. This technique of ikat weaving on a traditional handloom is a beautiful art of "poetry on the loom". This saree is woven with double ikat sapta design woven in checkerboard pattern body. Dobby rudraksha design border is selected for the saree. The geometric sapta motif on pallu add to the beauty of this handloom saree. The saree gives little crispy feel to hand as starch is applied to yarns during weaving.
