1786 komponierte Haydn Die sieben letzten Worte unseres Erlösers am Kreuz für Orchester. Zehn Jahre später schrieb er davon eine um Singstimmen erweiterte, ergreifende Fassung. Diese Version lassen uns Justin Doyle, der RIAS Kammerchor Berlin und das Konzerthausorchester Berlin neu entdecken. Zusammen mit vier Ausnahmesolisten offenbaren sie die ganze dramatische Wucht des Werks, seine Ausdrucksstärke und liturgische Inbrunst.
