It is always winter in a distant land. Once a year, Winter Queen announces a special competition for her court wizards. They create magical ornaments with enchanted crystals and the queen pays them with gold coins. The one who collects the most coins until the end of the competition becomes the advisor to the next queen.

In the abstract family game Winter Queen you take on the role of the wizards of Winter Queen and create magical ornaments from enchanted crystals. Each turn you place a new crystal on the board or use already placed crystals to score victory points, depending on the spellbooks you and your opponents have.
