This is a 19th century boot jack elegantly carved into the shape of a lady's leg
It is made of red brown wood - probably mahogany but possibly yew
It has two brass hinges and two short brass feet
One "toe" is chipped, and there is a chip near the brass foot on one side.
The jack unfolds to reveal two carved recesses which hold folding steel boot pulls.
One boot pull has a button hook on its end and the other a punch or lacing tool.
