Sculptural composite stone wall light or sculpture in the shape of a shell. The relief pattern shows beautifully when lit but is also stunning just as a sculptural piece or with a candle or ivy. Made by Swedish-Norweigian sculptor Erling Valldeby for Bjerkås, circa 1940s. Can either be hung in a corner or on a flat wall or leaning on a shelf.

Erling Valldeby (1899-1973)

Norweigian-Swedish sculptor who trained at the Valand Academy of Fine Arts and in Paris. Valldeby is mostly known for sculptures and reliefs with mythological or biblical motifs as well as garden sculptures made from wood or stone. His work can be found in many churches around Sweden.
