About Father John Francis Laboon

A Jesuit priest who volunteered for submarine duty in WWII, Father Laboon served aboard USS Peto and earned the Silver Star for his courage under fire. He later rose to Captain in the Navy Chaplain Corps — a man of faith who never shied from the fight. Laboon the ship carries his name with honor.
