My photos do no justice to this, especially the first one--I need a lesson in how to set the iphone camera to properly capture various types of wood without bringing out all of the reddish undertones! Detail photos are slightly better, but it is much lovelier and softer feelinh in hand, and all about all of those hearts and spikes and layers--as much a sculptural object as a frame. Made of cigar box wold, late 19th c. or so, I believe. Could be used as a mirror or a frame, but with just top or bottom edges on the reverse to hold the glass or mirror, so a bit of taping/papering/nailing to secure it would be wise. 

9 1/4" x 7 7/8"; opening 2 13/16" x 3" t. Very good antique condition, no losses I can see, much much lovelier and softer feeling in hand.
