Experience the Mediterranean Heritage of Cyprus Trace the economic history of the Republic of Cyprus with this two-note set. These denominations—the 250 Mils and 500 Mils—were the fractional workhorses of the Cypriot economy until they were replaced by coins in the 1980s. Both notes are in Very Fine (VF) condition, showing typical light circulation such as vertical folds and minor paper softening, but they maintain vibrant colors and crisp details.
Note 1: 250 Mils (Blue/Green) - 1.9.1971 Issue (Pick #41)
Obverse: Features an orange tree branch with fruit on the left and the national Coat of Arms on the right. An outline map of Cyprus appears in the lower right corner.
Reverse: A historical industrial scene depicting the Amiandos Asbestos Mine in the Troodos Mountains, featuring the mining facility, minecarts, and landscape.
Note 2: 500 Mils (Green) - 1.6.1979 Issue (Pick #42)

Reverse: A serene natural landscape showing a mountain road lined with tall cypress trees with the snow-capped Troodos Mountains in the distance.
Watermark: Both notes feature the Mufflon head (a wild sheep native to Cyprus).
