The DPA 5100 is a compact and easy-to-use mobile surround microphone with stunning sound quality. Ideal for capturing immersive ambience in sports broadcasts, documentaries, and HDTV production, it requires no external signal processing.

This versatile microphone can be mounted on a camera or mic stand, suspended, or handheld with a grip. Despite its lightweight design, it is built robustly and performs reliably even in challenging weather conditions.

Featuring five miniature pressure transducers with low sensitivity to wind and mechanical noise, low distortion, consistent low-frequency response, and a large dynamic range, the DPA 5100 delivers professional results effortlessly.

Using DPA's proprietary DiPMic (Directional Pressure Microphone) technology with interference tubes on the L/C/R capsules and acoustic baffles, it ensures excellent channel separation and directionality without the need for additional processing.

The three front microphones are time-coincident for perfect frequency consistency when downmixing to stereo or mono, while the rear microphones are optimally spaced to create natural time arrival differences. The LFE (.1) channel combines a left/right sum attenuated by 10 dB, following 5.1 format standards.

The 5100's 5.1 output uses a multi-pin Lemo connector carrying all six channels electronically balanced, with an included 5 m (16 ft) Mogami cable breaking out to six Neutrik XLR-M connectors.
