Garston, which was first founded during the gold rush of 1850, is the most inland settlement of New Zealand, smack bang in the middle of the south of the South Island.
There, Garston Farms are growing unique, new terroir hops, rarely used in Australia.
That's why we were so excited when Garston-native Krystella visited us and brought early-harvest Nelson Sauvin, grown in a single, tree-lined paddock, with her. These hops receive an extra dose of dormancy each year due to spending their winters covered in frost and snow. It was love at first sniff.
We chose to showcase these hops in a New World Pilsner to spotlight and compliment their unique profile of passionfruit, lime and hints of oak.
