The Parasound Halo JC 3+ is a dedicated phono preamplifier supporting both moving magnet and moving coil cartridges, designed for audiophile turntable systems that demand accurate RIAA equalization and low-noise gain. Housed in a 3U chassis measuring 17.25 by 3.55 by 13.75 inches and weighing 19 lbs net, it draws only 12 watts in operation and 1 watt in standby, making it suitable for continuous use. AC voltage selection between 115 and 230 VAC is made via a switch on the chassis bottom.

Frequency response across the audio band is 20 Hz to 20 kHz within plus or minus 0.2 dB. Channel crosstalk is 72 dB at 1 kHz. For MM cartridges, input impedance is fixed at 47 kilohms; for MC cartridges, loading is variable from 50 to 550 ohms with a fixed 47-kilohm option also available. Signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 87 dB IHF A-weighted for both MM and MC configurations. Balanced XLR outputs follow standard pin 2-positive identification, and an external trigger input operates on 9-12 Vdc.
