Issued by the Republic of Turkey in 1959, this commemorative semi-postal stamp celebrates Manisa Mesir Bayramı (the Mesir Paste Festival), a centuries-old tradition marking health, healing, and community spirit. The design depicts the historic Manisa Bimarhanesi (Manisa Hospital), an Ottoman-era complex known for its early psychiatric care. Denominated 40 + 5 kuruş, the surcharge supported national welfare initiatives. Two color variants were printed — greenish-blue and violet-lilac — both engraved by Güzel Sanatlar Matbaası, Istanbul.
