This c. 1980s vintage Otagiri, Japan tall ceramic vase features an amazing satin finish that looks rather like an airbrush painting or frosted glass, with silvery clouds and purple mountains giving way to blue sky at the top--a landscape that feels very 80s, very dreamy, and very Japanese. The form is equally dramatic, with this wrapped vertical edge angled to a sharp point, perfectly in sync with the surface decoration. In the right spot, this would be a real stunner, and all the more so filled with a couple of calla lilies, a bird of paradise, or sophisticated ikebana arrangement. Really cool.
