At 20.4 inches long this combination white pearl necklace is the perfect length. Hand-knotted using traditional cream silk knotting cord the focal pearls are large white baroque pearls with a pinky/golden lustre. Being all odd shapes it's the perfectly imperfect balance. Whilst they are all cultured they are entirely natural shapes and have natural blemishes and inclusions that do not detract from their beauty.

White pearls have had many special meanings throughout history but they primarily symbolise innocence, purity, faith, protection and peace hence their association with wedding jewellery. Often associated with the aristocracy and royalty they have become more fashionable in recent years due to their affordability and popularity.

Covid almost decimated the pearl industry but thankfully my supplier is recovering nicely. Pearl jewellery has been a part of my upbringing -  my grandma never took hers off nor did she go out without them.
