What is Softshell Fabric?

The best softshell fabric is a soft, insulated and breathable fabric. It is a woven material that is made from 2 layers of fabric which have been bonded together. Flexible with some structure, softshell is a popular choice for activewear clothing, thanks to its stretch, insulated structure and soft handle. It is also moisture-wicking, so it's designed to let moisture out and keep you dry.

What is a "technical fabric?"

A "technical fabric" is a loose term used for a fabric or textile which has been made for non-aesthetic reasons, meaning, it has functions and properties which actually make it beneficial for its intended purpose. Sometimes called "performance fabrics," our Softshell jersey is a technical fabric, because it is moisture-wicking, breathable, structured and insulating.

Surface textures

This fabric has a matte soft face and with a loopback jersey fabric and a matte, comfortable back. The tight closed knit makes a solid fabric which holds a certain amount of elasticity. Despite being a solid fabric it still has a lovely, easy drape, and is firm enough to retain its shape well.

Print detail

This loopback jersey fabric was dyed white to Oekotex Standards, so rest easy knowing your print will be looking great with bold contrast. With a matte surface texture, which makes the colours sharp and clear. It shows crisp lines and very high levels of detail making it suitable for intricate designs.

Usage

This loopback jersey fabric has a comfortable stretch element, which lends itself well to clothes that can be worn every day.
