SUPER MAYA is about a four year old girl who is hard of hearing (HOH) . She just moved to town and is going to a new school. She is excited about having new experiences and adventures in school. She is also looking forward to meeting new friends, but is nervous about their reaction when they learn she is hard of hearing. Super Maya allows the reader to witness Maya's experiences and difficulties in adjusting to the new environment, but also how she learns to speak up and tell people about herself. It also shows how her friends learn to understand her and how they can help her as well.
