The Ju 52 was developed at the end of the 1920s under the supervision of engineer Ernst Zindel. Originally it was a single propeller airplane. After test flights they decided to expand it to 3 engines, adding the 3m designation to it. This type later became part of the Luftwaffe as a bomber and transport airplane.
