This very fine whip is in very good condition for its age.
It has a gold coloured cap and collar with foliate and floral decoration.

There is a purple cut amethyst set into the top of the cap.
The rim of the collar is engraved "Simpson & comp^y, London".

The collar also has a monogram engraved in a cartouche.

The cap also has a ring with a tasselled silk wrist cord.
Between the cap and collar, the grip is covered in finely braided cream coloured baleen or whalebone.
The long slim shaft is covered in light brown braided thread
The whip has the remains of its original lash at its end..
