This book deals with the contemporary theoretical, conceptual, and empirical issues faced by tourism stakeholders in their pursuit of sustainability in the better normal and explores the challenges of achieving sustainable tourism in Asia within the framework of tourism management given the lessons from the recent pandemic. The recent pandemic, which disrupted multiple scales encompassing economic, sociopolitical, and environmental facets, has made more pronounced the significance of tourism as an economic activity among Asian countries. In this book, lessons learned from the pandemic can serve as a transformative opportunity and transition event where systemic modifications in tourism can be introduced to move towards sustainability. This has been driven by recent developments in the world that provided economic opportunities that are encouraging changes in the behavior of tourism stakeholders (international tourism bodies, national tourism organizations, destination managers, enterprises, local communities, and tourists). At the same time, the challenges of meeting these economic opportunities have become more pronounded as evidenced by threats on people, planet, and profits.
